Why you should support the #StopBrexit March
On the 1st October 2017, groups of people from all across the country will be joining the #StopBrexit Mass Rally and National March on the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester. People of all political parties - and none - will be marching for different reasons, but with the same objective: To stop the disaster of Brexit before it’s too late. We will capture headlines and show our power and defiance to the champions of Brexit.
More than a year after the divisive referendum, it is clear that project fear has become project reality. Prosperity, security and stability are being thrown out the window for the idealism of the Eurosceptics who want us out of the EU at whatever price. The Brexit bulldogs in Theresa May’s current cabinet have already lost the Conservatives their majority and are now losing ground in the negotiations with Brussels, yet still they are at the centre of power threatening our interests and integrity as a nation. We need to tell the party that enough is enough, that it’s time to relegate these Brexit bulldogs to the backbenches and #StopBrexit!
The #StopBrexit National March is being organised by Stop Brexit Ltd, a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and set up by a diverse range of volunteers from across the grassroots Remain movement - with the sole aim of preventing the UK from leaving the EU.
To make the march happen we urgently need your help – we need boots on the ground, but we also need funding, so please donate what you can to our crowdfunder today.
While the March and Rally are being organised by volunteers, there are many unavoidable expenses. Our initial target is £38,000 for a projected budget of:
- £18,600 for the rally, incl. stage, PA system and projections screens rental, set up and operation and public liability insurance for a large-scale event.
- £10,275 for advertising and other promotional expenses. We hope to supplement this by some additional funding and would love to hear from anyone wishing to sponsor an advert in their favourite newspaper.
- £6,000 for the commission of a provocative new float, specifically created for us by Jacques Tilly, designer of the world famous Donald Trump and Theresa May carnival floats.
- £3,100 for other march-related expenses (health and safety, etc).
No salaries or share dividends will be paid from donations and all funds will be fully and transparently accounted for, both before and after the march. Please note: This is the only crowdfunder supporting the #StopBrexit National March in Manchester.
