Fundraising for UEA Lib Dems

Why you should support UEA Liberal Democrats

UEA Liberal Democrats is a university society branch of the liberal Democrats. We are run by students for students, fighting for a party we believe in. However, like most students we are poor. We have around 30 members. However, this hasn't always been the case. In 2014 when I got to UEA, the Lib Dem society was brand new. For as long as everyone can remember UEA Lib Dems have had a cyclical pattern, of thriving for a couple of years, then no longer existing. I would like to cement the society and break this pattern.

Each member currently pays £3. We can't ask our members to pay more than this, however, we need to run our society. We need to buy leaflets, pay for events and if we have the funds, subsidies our members trips to spring conference. All of this cost around £500 a year. In return, we are a valuable campaign force across Norfolk. In my three years at UEA I have campaigned in three local election campaigns, and two general election campaigns, in more than one constituency.

We gain £90 a year from our members. If just 34 people pay £12, that's £1 a month, we can raise £408.

Thank you for helping us
