We have assembled a team of innovators from the fields of politics, technology and data science to build an independent, objective and non-partisan platform for political engagement. Steve Hilton Chief Executive Officer and co-founder
Steve was formerly Senior Advisor to UK Prime Minister David Cameron, where he championed data transparency and the redistribution of power from government to citizens. He served as campaign co-ordinator for Conservative leader John Major in 1992, ran international political and commercial campaigns at Saatchi & Saatchi, and was co-founder of Good Business, a corporate responsibility consulting firm. He teaches at Stanford University's d.school (Hasso Plattner Institute of Design) and is the author of More Human - Designing a World Where People Come First.
Paul Hilder Chief International Officer & co-founder
Paul was Vice-President of Global Campaigns at Change.org, where he led the platform’s global growth to 80 million users in 20 countries. He co-founded the British progressive movement 38 Degrees and openDemocracy.net, and stood as a reformist candidate for General Secretary of the UK Labour Party in 2011. He has also played leadership roles at Avaaz.org, Oxfam, Purpose, Here Now and the Young Foundation.
Adam Bonica Chief Data Scientist & co-founder
Adam is an Assistant Professor of political science at Stanford University. The focus of his research is the quantitative measurement of political ideology. He built the unique algorithms that drive Crowdpac products and services.
Gisel Kordestani Chief Operating Officer & co-founder
Gisel is a British technology entrepreneur who spent over eight years at Google in senior global roles in finance and new business development. She has extensive experience of early stage startups and of management consulting. Gisel holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in International Affairs from the American University in Paris.
Andy Lulham Software Engineer
Andy is a software developer and computational neuroscience researcher. He has contributed to many civic technology and open data projects, including MySociety, YourNextMP, Rewired State and Open Knowledge Labs. He has also worked for campaigning organizations Avaaz and 10:10.
James Moulding Political Analyst
James is co-founder of the air quality tech startup AirPublic. He has worked previously as community manager of OpenSensors, a real-time data exchange for the Internet of Things, as well as for the Wikimedia Global Summit and Cybersalon, a think tank on networked culture.
Mike Polyakov VP, Data Science
Mike previously served as research director at California Common Sense and as a software engineer at Lockheed Martin. He holds a PhD from UC Berkeley in political science and a BA and ME in computer science from Cornell University.
Jesse Thomas VP, Digital Strategy
A seasoned political digital strategist, Jesse led the online campaign for President Obama’s re-election campaign that registered over a million people to vote. He served as Digital Director for NextGen Climate and has run numerous successful digital engagement and creative campaigns for non-profits and government.
Cedric Hulin Head of User Acquisition
Cedric developed Web Analytics and Digital Marketing skills working for the telecommunication company Orange. He holds a Master of Science in Marketing & Business Development from EDHEC Business School (France).
Fernando Velloso Neto Senior Manager, Content & Data
Fernando received his MA in International Policy from Stanford University, during which time he consulted for Brazil's Mission to the United Nations and the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington DC. Previously he was a lawyer and worked in Brazil's Federal Congress.
Dan Carson Lead Designer
Dan was the Lead Interaction Designer for the 2012 Obama Campaign, Product Designer at Trunk Club and Change.org, and Senior Designer at Modest. He has done work for dozens of political campaigns, Fortune 500 companies, and non-profits. Dan has a AAA degree from The Art Institute of Seattle in Interactive Media Development.
Eric Smith Lead Software Engineer
Eric co-founded Bistro Studios, where he developed web sites and applications for clients like TOMS Shoes and Barnes & Noble. He holds a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from Pepperdine University.
Stephen Melrose Senior Software Engineer
Stephen was previously a Lead Software Engineer for BSkyB responsible for leading teams working on high-performance and high-availability web-based systems.
